This project is at its beginning. Japanese and Foreigner student-researchers are studying the homeless phenomenon in Japan. This homepage tries to gather knowledge, information, news, opinions on this theme of research. Feel free to participate.

1/XII/02

bulletadded in the archive a 2000-2002 list of heavily injured and murdered homeless in Japan. These figures are only top of the iceberg. 

30/XI/02

bullet On the 29 of November, national medias brought to attention a case of murdered homeless in the city of kumaya (熊谷), Saitama prefecture. Three schoolboys whose average age is fourteen years old have beaten him to death on the 24th. Mr. Inoue died in a hospital on the 25th of November. He was 45 years old. Police quickly discovered who committed this crime as they were boasting about their act at school.

bulletAccording to the law concerning reinsertion of homeless people (see in the archive the law in Japanese), a national survey to know how many homeless people are in Japan is on the run. Who is going to take the responsibility of it?
bullet(old news but...)Three associations in Tokyo, Shinjuku renrakukai, Nojiren and the Ressource center for homeless and human rights are about to melt in a new unique association. Demand have been addressed to Tokyo's administration.

02/XI/02

bulletCame back from a trip in Osaka (ah Osaka !!!). Spent one week in Kamagazaki in a ancient doya (very cheap hotel) that is now reconverted into a place for homeless people that can receive life insurance from Japanese government. The system is called supportive house.  I wrote something on it. See Archive.
